The Integration of Type & Image

The project expands the student’s understanding of type forms and their literary contribution to the meaning of the design.
Objectives 
■ To see and use typographic forms as creative tools and investigate their interaction with imagery
■ To use the basic principles in design as a visual language to emphasize the concept and message chosen
■ To experiment with the creative possibilities utilizing digital methods
■ To develop broader overall design experiences in communication

Social Cause Poster and Public Display

This project helps the students to understand the importance of research in shaping the design concept, crafting a compelling campaign message, and strengthening their understanding of form and content.
Objectives 
■ Creative thinking for the development of imagery for appropriate representation of the mission of the organization chosen
■ Expanding media possibilities
■ Continuation of the relationship between typography and image
■ Consistency in all decision-making to support chosen concept across chosen media delivery

Dust Jacket Design

Design a dust jacket cover for one of the stories in The New Yorker's fiction column
Objectives:
■ To understand the role of visual design in storytelling by not rewriting the narrative but ensuring the visual outcome is part of the narrative.
■ To use the design principles ( to emphasize the concept and message chosen.
■ Creation and utilization of creative photography, basic typesetting, and the integration of type, image, and/or illustration.
■ Mastery of interface with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
