Communication design in the United States during the 1950s through the 1960s have shaped and defined the present state of the profession, especially when it is also a transition to Postmodernism. This infographic gives us a look through the two main design movement—Swiss Design or the International Typographic Style and the New York School by comparing and contrasting 19 designers in the era base on their approach to design. The diamond map ranks each designer on their influences by either Swiss design or the New York School. The time line evaluates and measures the influence of each work base on the typographic and illustration styles, composition, form (content) and function (meaning).
